Bob Quinn
Producer/Director
Bob Quinn has had a life long passion for history. After graduating
Brown University with a degree in American History. He later
attended the School of Visual Arts film program in New York
City.
Since then, for over twenty five years, Bob
has been working in film and video. He learned his craft during
a three year stint on staff at Sheridan-Elson Communications
on Madison Avenue. He spent the next seven years working as
a freelance producer and production manager on a myriad of
projects, many on location for a variety of Fortune 500 clients
and in such diverse fields as health care, banking, aerospace,
travel and the military. He has handled productions in over
40 states, as well as Egypt, Hong Kong, Ireland, and England.
In 1990 he co-founded Picture Business Productions
Inc., a production and post-production studio with Joe Cultrera.
Located in Union Square in the heart of the Flatiron District
in New York City, they pooled resources to build an editorial
facility that boasted a large and faithful following.
During this time, Bob also produced a host
of projects ranging from independent documentaries to non-profit
and corporate health videos. Utilizing a style that puts a
face onto a story, a subject or message, Picture Business
created a distinctive style.
Bob’s philosophy has always been to fuel a project with
a talented creative team, while working to ensure the client’s
vision is enhanced. His simple but powerful mission statement
is to listen to a client, oversee the work of a talented creative
team, and deliver a superior product.
His strengths lie in the creative development
of a project; coordination with clients and key production
personnel; and in the planning and execution of projects.
The culmination of many fruitful collaborations
resulted in effective and successful story-telling. Picture
Business projects were seen on public programming and cable
networks and at museums and film festivals.
Bob, initially engaged in the world of New York City filmmaking,
has seen the industry move from video to the present day digital
world. Regardless of the media, he has been committed to “make
ideas move.”
Bob has relocated his operation to East Greenwich,
R.I. to pursue independent documentary projects.
