“Last Call:
Dreams, Main Street, and the Search for Community” (Shouldered
Oar Films, 2002) drew 55,000 viewers when it was broadcast
as the opening film for “Indie Select” series
on WBGH44 last fall. The 60-minute films was written and directed
by John Stanton, filmed and edited by Henry Ferrini, and narrated
by Russell Baker. It will be rebroadcast this spring on WBGH44.
“The Bones of History”
and “This Old Whale,” both written and
directed by John Stanton and produced by Shouldered Oar Films,
will provide video support for the featured permanent exhibit
when the Nantucket Historical Association’s new Whaling
Museum opens it doors in June, 2005.
Writer/director
John Stanton is currently in production with a series
of 10 documentary short films that explore the life and times
of Nantucket. The series is being produced by Shouldered Oar
Films for PlumTV.
Director Henry Ferrini's upcoming
documentary film "Poet & the City" will
feature John Malkovich reading
from the poet, Charles Olson’s works. Look for Poet
& the City in the fall of 2005.
